How to start-up the free biological sequence alignment viewers, Jalview (http://www.jalview.org) is demonstrated in this tutorial. Jalview is used for the analysis of primary, secondary and tertiary structure of proteins, RNA and DNA.

This video explains how to download and open Jalview desktop on your computer by either launching Jalview desktop from the web or installing Jalview desktop on your computer. The easiest way is to use the webstart launch button from the Jalview website (http://www.jalview.org). This downloads a jalview.jnlp file, opening this file will start Jalview. You will require Java version 1.6 or later installed on your computer to run Jalview. If you are having trouble, it may help by updating or changing the browser you are using.
