College management information system
Abstract:
Main aim in developing CMS is to provide an easy way not only to automate all functionalities of a college, but also to provide full functional reports to top management of college with the finest of details about any aspect of college.
We are committed to bring the best way of management in the various forms of CMS. We understand that CMS in not a product to be sold, it is a bridge between the College and Students.
So we can say the Core purpose of designing “College Management System” is to manage the task related to the college students/employees and to reduce time to searching of appropriate candidates in college view.
The purpose of this system is to maintain all the details of college in online.

EXISTING SYSTEM & DISADVANTAGES

In existing system students need to visit the college directly to know the details of courses and fee. So it is not user friendly. PROPOSED SYSTEM & ITS DISADVANTAGES

In proposed system students can know the course details and fee details through online. So no need to visit the college directly. If he wants to join the college he can download the application form. It also consists of details about college facilities like library and computer lab etc.

Advantages:
• Easy approach to find the detail information for any student.
• Easy to handle all functionality of college.
• Easy to manage all actions (generating attendance report, fee report etc).

Modules:

This project consists of six modules.
• Admin
• User
1. Admin Module:
This module is purely for an administrator of Colleg. By using this module administrator can control all operations like adding course details,Alumini details,Staff details, Department details, Placement details, facilities etc.

2. User Module:
In this module all the users can see the details like old Student details, placement details , etc. online.

4.2 PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

Performance is measured in terms of the output provided by the application. Requirement specification plays an important part in the analysis of a system. Only when the requirement specifications are properly given, it is possible to design a system, which will fit into required environment. It rests largely with the users of the existing system to give the requirement specifications because they are the people who finally use the system. This is because the requirements have to be known during the initial stages so that the system can be designed according to those requirements. It is very difficult to change the system once it has been designed and on the other hand designing a system, which does not cater to the requirements of the user, is of no use.
The requirement specification for any system can be broadly stated as given below: The system should be able to interface with the existing system
• The system should be accurate
• The system should be better than the existing system
The existing system is completely dependent on the user to perform all the duties.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS: Operating System : Windows Technology : Java/j2ee (JDBC, JSP) Web Technologies : Html, JavaScript, CSS Web Server : Tomcat Database : Oracle Software’s : J2SDK1.5, Tomcat 5.5, Oracle 9i
