A series of videos where I showcase all the new features of Battlefield 3.

In this this episode, I show you the new infrared optic/scope attachment that yo can use on most of the weapons in Battlefield 3.

The infrared scope is one of the later unlocks you get when you use a weapon continuously and as you'd expect: it allows you to pick up any heat signatures whether it's an enemy or a vehicle, or even a missile.

I found that the infrared worked really well in the subway with pretty much any weapon you can think of, the enemies are really clear and there aren't many other heat signatures that interfere with the scope such as fires or UV light. It's also great knowing that if an enemy is there, then they WILL show up on the infrared scope - whereas on Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops, there's a chance in which they are using a perk that avoids detection with the thermal scope.

As you can see, it looks a lot different than the scopes in Call of Duty as those are Thermal Scopes, whereas this is an infrared scope. They work in different ways however the end result is still the same and to be honest, I found it easier to use in Battlefield. One minor niggle though is that it even picks up dead bodies so I did tend to shoot dead bodies a lot believing that they were prone enemies.

Other videos in this series will be: The animation, Laser Sight, the rate of fire toggle, suppression, flashlights, the lighting, Bipods, Weapon Customization, the melee system and Destruction 3.0.
