This tank is NOT fully decorated. However, when setting it up, it is important to consider not only its aesthetic aspects, but the needs of your fish as well. It pays to create a safe, comfortable home for your aquatic pets. When they are happy and at ease, they tend to display more vibrant colors and be more active, and this makes them a joy to watch.

Consider the types of fish you are keeping and the condition of their habitats. Plants should not be added if you are keeping African Cichlids as this fish may treat the plants as food and destroy your lush aquascape.

Provide aggressive fish like African Cichlids with opportunities to establish their "personal space" by placing items like rocks in the aquarium.

When selecting decorative items, consider the amount of time you can spare to maintain your aquarium. Live plants can help improve the quality as they absorb nitrates and carbon dioxide for their growth. However, their survival and health are dependent on the provision of adequate lighting, and periodic trimming and fertilizing.

If you find it too bothersome to keep plants alive, use plastic ones which only require occasional scrubbing to remove dirt and algae growth.

Avoid large grained gravel as food particles are easily trapped between the granules. These particles will eventually decay and foul the water. If you are using an undergravel filter, choose medium sized gravel as fine grains can clog the plastic

The purposes of fitting a filter into your aquarium is to remove excess food, free floating particles, harmful chemicals, decaying organic matter and other fish waste products from the water.
Fish excrete waste constantly. If this waste is allowed to accumulate, it becomes processed into toxic matter, which rapidly builds up. A high level concentration of toxins in the waste will poison the fish, and kill them eventually.
It is therefore vital for the health of your fish that you equip your aquarium will a proper filtration system. Not only a good filtration system improve your aquarium appearance, it also reduces the amount of care required to keep your fish happy and healthy.

With a good filtration system, frequent change of water is not necessary. However, having a good filtration system is no excuse to shirk on aquarium maintenance. Fish still need proper feeding and inspection for injuries, stress or any other problems.
Viewing fish from injuries or other problem when kept in indoor pond is not possible.
They need to be transferred to glass tank in order to have a closer look for any injuries.

The setting up of open bottom tank inside pond allow you to monitor the fish health without having to remove and cause more stress to them.

I welcome comments to further improve my set up. You can email or call 98584206 Mr Ho. (Singapore) For more video search for ... fishfreedom.
