Give this a chance until at least 0:20! The best bit is probably 2:36-3:03.

This is my 13th WTF remix, and the first one I've uploaded as its own video. You can see the evolution of the idea to this point in the previous "wtf 4 variations" videos I've uploaded.

"WTF" is a song from OK Go's 2010 album Of The Blue Colour Of The Sky. It has an official music video, and released raw greenscreen footage inviting video "remixes". This video is a remake of the original OK Go WTF effect, altered in certain important ways, but simultaneously staying fairly close to the original concept.

The basic idea in this video is that the video is synchronized with the music: each beat of the music changes the color of the echoes.

There are some artifacts here in that certain red and yellow colors don't change because they're too close to skin tone (which I made a conscious choice not to change). Fixing these artifacts would be possible with a bit of work, but given the limitations of the downloadable version of the greenscreen footage and the quality of my chromakeying, it's not really worth it.

There's only one video instead of 4 this time because I didn't make any more variations of this (except minor changes to things like how fast the echoes fade). I actually wrote a bunch more color-processing effects, but this was the first one I tried, since the bright colors of the original video invited hue shifting.

And I like the effect enough that I didn't bother trying any more variations. In fact, I'm going to stop the project here because this is better than anything I expected to achieve, so I don't think the additional ideas I was considering pursuing are going to improve it further.
