Can you believe it??? I have NEVER seen sleet in the hart of Los Angeles. I know it has sleeted before but usually not in this densely populated area just west of downtown. The city creates too much of a heat island.

(From a google search)
An urban heat island (UHI) is a metropolitan area which is significantly warmer than its surrounding rural areas. The phenomenon was first investigated and described by Luke Howard in the 1810s, although he was not the one to name the phenomenon.[1] The temperature difference usually is larger at night than during the day, and is most apparent when winds are weak. Seasonally, UHI is seen during both summer and winter. The main cause of the urban heat island is modification of the land surface by urban development which uses materials which effectively retain heat.

I composed the music using garage band and yes, that is me singing towards the end. I am still on my symphony orchestra composing kick. IT sounds like its from a soundtrack. I have been studying Bernard Herman's work (especially in the movie "Vertigo") recently to get a better understanding of composing music in this way.

My brother took this video on his 5 meg digital camera. The video is not nearly as clear as the one I use. However, is has served its purpose very well in this case of being easily available on this regular week day as I was at work at the time.
