My name is Marisela Escobedo, my daughter Ruby Marisol was brutaly murdered by her husband on August 28th 2008. The murderer confesed his crime and also apologized for killing my daughter. Even so, 3 judges agreed that because there was lack of evidence they could not convict him. The murderer was still at large. Since then, I began a full invenstigation on my behalf. I did not want the crime to go unpunished. I found the murderer in Zacatecas, Mexico, and I managed to have him taken to Cd. Juarez so he could be duly processed tried and convicted. Again he was set free. I didn't give up. I rallied and demonstrated on behalf of my daughter, demanding justice be done. On December 16th, 2010, in one of the rallys in front of the citys government building in Chihuahua an armed man shot me. I already had been life threatened, the authorities already knew about the threats. It was there on the sidewalk in front of the government building where my body fell and my life was cruelly taken from me in front of everyone, in front of all of Mexico. My family had to escape and seek asilum which was granted by our neigboring country (USA). My daughter's crime and mine have gone unpunished... MEXICO WAKE UP!!!

Ely Guerra le da voz a Marisela Escobedo, activista asesinada el 16 de diciembre del 2010 frente al Palacio de Gobierno de Chihuahua. Su lucha es la de una madre que busca justicia por la muerte de su hija.
