Well, even if it isn't fully accurate at least Sludge came out with a decent enough Abyss to serve as an actual boss character unlike the other highly incomplete versons. Yes, Abyss is the final boss from Marvel vs Capcom 2 and has three forms in which Yue will fight, each one gets more challenging slightly than the last (unless you have Yue's small size you can pretty much mess up Abyss' general strategy). Possessing Hyper Armor, can use Supers at will, annoying and disrupting specials, and powerful attacks makes Abyss seriously suit the final boss type character himself.
First form of Abyss is a bulky and tall armor with horns that is sluggish but has deadly attacks like an unstoppable tackle charge, giant energy beam blast, a screen spanning rain of energy spears, homing energy orbs and such other attacks that tend to be hard to avoid. Not too hard to beat if you block and time attacks right and even easier to beat with projectiles or strikers.
Second form of Abyss is this humanoid goo being that usually remains stationary at one place shooting a thin or thick horiziontal beam attack that is highly damaging. It also will dive into the ground to reappear in where it was already was before or even reappear on the other side of the screen, leaving these huge trap bubbles everytime it disappears. This form is pretty annoying if you go all melee on Abyss here or are a taller character.
Final form of Abyss is this gargantuous, sludge-like monster that takes up half the screen and has incredible attack range. This form starts getting much harder than the previous two as he will teleport more than his second form and attack with long ranged strikers and shoot hard hitting goo projectiles. This form you never want to spend too much time in the air or he'll literally own you that way. Bets approach is block a lot and when you spot openings by Abyss you hit him with attacks up close as you try to stay close but cautious around him. He can also disappear off the screen for some time and throw attacks at you while he is fully unhittable temporarily.
Unlike MvC2 I fight Abyss for two full rounds and yes.... He's on his Hard Mode.
