COMPLETE VIDEO TEXT:
Hey everyone, my name is Matt Syverson, and I go by the name of the Paperback Rocker on the internet.
What you're listening to behind me is music I made when I was in Seattle in the 90's, playing under the band name, Saturn Lander. I hope you're enjoying it. That's me playing guitar, as well as bass, and singing. There's a lot of my songs on YouTube if you want to hear more.
I've been playing guitar for over 25 years, and I've decided it's time to share my knowledge with other people through guitar lessons.
I've got a cool teaching studio on Main Street in Victoria, Texas, and I'm only charging 15 bucks for each half hour lesson.
Of course we'll cover rhythm playing, but the long term goal I have for my students is mastery over the fretboard, meaning the ability to solo improvisationally over any song in any key. That means learning music theory and applying that to your fretboard technique. Watch the clip at the end of this video to see what I'm talking about.
The first session is free, where we'll meet and discuss your playing goals and determine where to start our study together. After that, it will take only a 15 dollar per week commitment from you to learn what took me years of study and thousands of hours of practice to understand about that great mystery known as the guitar fretboard.
By the way, I'm a certified Texas teacher, so I'm used to finding the best ways to impart what I know to my students. I can even record something you play in a lesson and make it into an mp3 you can share with your friends and family, and I also have the ability to slow songs down without changing the pitch, which I can give to you on CD as part of your lesson. For example, here's me playing a pretty tough riff by Metallica, followed by the slowed down version that can make it a lot easier for a student to learn.
You can email me at PaperbackRocker@live.com, all one word, call me at 361-652-9362, please leave a message, or get hold of me through my website, PaperbackRocker.com, where you can also check out the books I write as well as my podcasts and blog posts.
I guess that covers it, so I'm gonna get back to some guitar playing. You should give me a call.
