JAPANESE ELECTRONICS FIRM Sony held a pre-Christmas press event held in London today The INQUIRER got a look at its most recent addition to the Vaio range of laptops, the E11.

Revealed late last month the E11 is a very portable 11 incher aimed at users who want to "stay mobile without sacrificing PC performance".

Powered by an AMD dual-core E2-1800 APU clocked at 1.7GHz, the E Series 11 will come with integrated AMD Radeon HD 7340 graphics, 4GB of memory upgradeable to 8GB and a 500GB SATA hard drive.

The 11.6in Vaio display supports 1366x768 resolution, but the system can drive an external display at up to 1920x1200 via its VGA or HDMI outputs.

Sony claims the E Series 11 will offer up to six hours of battery life from a single charge. With a weight of 1.5kg, the notebook is heavier than some larger ultrabook models, but weighs 100g lighter than Sony's own 13in ultrabook, the Vaio T13. µ
