The time to delight you with a new album is coming. It has been long in the making, and is essentially a string of ten smash hit disco blues tunes, all written and played by your truly. On the controls is a big shot producer fried of mine, Jimmy Hogarth. He's done all his work for free 'cause I beat him at cards. I've gone deep into Karmic debt with my musician friends, who have stepped up and played incredible parts on this record. We got Joey Waronker (Beck, REM) on drums. On bass: Henry Olsen (Screamadelica). On lady vocals: Martina Topley Bird, Jessica Hynes, Josephine Oniyama, Naomi Yhap. On keys: Will Foster (Fratellis). Horns by Martin Slattery and Greg Heath. I'm playing piano, bass, guitar, harmonica of course, and working like a bitch to please you.
Yep, this is one slick mother jumper of a record. So why Son of Dave, I hear you ask, why are you asking me to pre-order it? The simple answer is that it's the last chance to sell enough records to afford the surgery I expect I will need soon, and the NHS won't be around for much longer. The only way I'm going to be able to afford the false teeth I'm due for is if we manage to shoot one of these slick dirty tunes into the stupid eye of the giant. And that takes professional assassins who demand payment.
My enemy is not any individual human (though perhaps it is Simon Cowell) it is the grand collective tastelessness of talent show music, boardroom production, and big company blues. They take up too much bloody room, they are crowding my space, and it's time for a cull. If you feel the same, lets show them how many and reckless we are! By giving me your money.
These fine people at Pledge work like bastards to sell you good stuff. They have a groovy company. We have lots of goodies and extras to sell ya so you can feel special. I'd come and prance around your living room in a frock for the right price at this point. I've done away with pride.
Again, thanks for the continued fanatical support, and see you in the mosh pit.
