@3:56 Ingraham: The Washington Post, I am sure you saw the piece over the weekend, a couple days ago, tax breaks would be tough to cut. The Congressional Research Service talks about a number of the "special interest credits and deductions" could include the child tax credit, the mortgage interest deduction, even some charitable contributions for certain income groups. When are we going to hear all the details and are all of those on the table for you?
Ryan: Yes. Everything is on the table for us and the Ways and Means committee is going to do hearings and do this in the light of day instead of trying to cut some backroom deal. And what we're saying is with a trillion dollars a year dedicated to loopholes, dedicated to tax shelters, which is about what we raise in income taxes a year, there is plenty of room to clear out tax shelters and loopholes in exchange for lower rates for everybody.
@8:34 Ingraham: Did Mitt Romney raise any concerns about your budget when he was on Capitol Hill last week? Any concerns raised by him at all?
Ryan: Not at all. I met with him and walked him through it and he was perfectly comfortable with all of it from what I could tell. And so was Rick and so was Newt as far as for these other two guys as well.
Ingraham: No concerns raised by any of them?
@9:33 Ryan: I heard about it and then I went on YouTube to see what the guy actually said. What I heard about it gave me concern, but what I got from the guy's comment was not that we are going to change our principles or change our policies, we are going to change our strategy from a primary strategy to focusing on Barack Obama. So I didn't see it as we are just putting our finger in the wind and we're going to blow with the times, I didn't get that at all.
10:54 Ryan: If I really wanted to be president or vice president, if that was my burning desire, I would have run for president myself. And I don't, so I didn't, and don't underestimate how important Congress is in all of this.
