The Hastings College Choir sings a contemporary work preceded by the Monteverdi madrigal which was an inspiration for the musical 'language' of Eric Whitacre's composition. Percussionists include Nate Mertens, Dustin Kerr, and Sean Anders. Incidental soloists are John Francis, Shelby Leyland & Stefanie Molli, and Elliott Lockwood.

Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). The college is located in Hastings, Nebraska.
