I'm back with another track from the upcoming Griffin Village EP, "Seasons". That should be finished (hopefully) by the end of this year!
With this song, I wanted to take a step away from the happy-go-lucky poppiness of "Summer" into something a little more somber. Gilda has always been my favorite character (Kinda crazy, I know) and she gets nothing but hate for what she did to Fluttershy. Hopefully, with this song, I could maybe change a few minds! However, if you still hate Gilda by the end of the song, It's all good, friend.
In my mind, this takes place after the events of Griffon the Brush-Off.
(Except in my silly headcanon it's Winter instead of like, Summer or something)
You catch her as she's running out of town, crying, betrayed, completely lost without her best friend. You do your best to comfort her, it's hard to stay mad at someone in this kind of state.
This song was heavily heavily inspired by "Dead Hearts" by Stars.
As well as bands like Coldplay, Owl City, etc. etc.
I once saw you running from them what did they do to you
They turned you into a fool, but you are nobody's fool
They took something special from you, something you would not release
Shed your tears and let them freeze, shed your tears and let them freeze.
They don't know you like I know you all those ponies are the same
I swear I won't go away, I swear I won't go away
There's a girl that I know
Feathers as white as our winter's blanket of snow
But I know But I know
Her heart is longing for someone to call her own
But she's all alone, alone
Now the snow is getting heavy won't you please come back with me
Won't you please come back with me, won't you please come back with me.
Art by the incredibly talented Crookedtrees!
(I'm not sure if you got back to me, Crooked, I sent you a message. If you don't want me to use your art in the video then I totally respect that and I'll take it down. Cheers!)
