We heard about Fyrkuna Metalworks based on the outskirts of Monrovia which is the capital city of Liberia in Africa.

Our colleague Nico informed us of Manfred Zbrzezny who is the man and the artist with the vision behind this place... it captured our own sentiments when we learnt that the metalworks and art that is being created here all derive from parts for weapons of war, namely discarded and decommissioned by government -- AK-47s, bazookas, pistols, rifles and many other deadly arms.

Read more about the great Manfred, and why we are releasing this news feature in the same week as 'International Day of UN Peacemakers' on 29th May 2014.
