The Reverend Dr. Rosalind M. Polston was born, raised, and received her early public education in Baltimore, Maryland. She earned the Doctorate of Ministry in Pastoral Care and Counseling from the Graduate Theological Foundation -- Oxford University, South Bend, Indiana. The Reverend Polston earned a Master of Divinity Degree from Shaw University, Divinity School, Raleigh, NC; a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resource Development, with an emphasis in counseling from Bowie State University, Bowie, Maryland, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Antioch University, Yellow Springs, Ohio. She has earned the credential of Fellow by the Association of Pastoral Counseling and Supervision.
The Reverend Polston is an ordained Elder in the African Methodist Episcopal Church. She has served at the Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, Long Green, Maryland, New Fellowship Christian Community Church, Baltimore, Maryland, and Assistant Pastor, Macedonia New Life Church, Raleigh, North Carolina. She is currently serving as Associate Minister at Tanner Chapel AME., Phoenix, Arizona. Her ministry at Tanner Chapel is Marriage and Family Counseling; Director Christian Studies; Christian Education Council, and Domestic Violence Prevention.
The Reverend Dr. Polston has served as Adjunct Chaplain at several hospitals in North Carolina. She also served as an Interim Instructor, Shaw Divinity School, in the areas of Abnormal Psychology, The Faith Community and Domestic Violence, and Womanist Theology. She serves as an Instructor at Tanner Chapel's Study of the Word Institute.
The Reverend Polston has a passion for facilitating the spiritual growth and development between the faith community and the community-at-large. She has served on numerous boards and committees whose goal is to improve the lives of the less fortunate. She was appointed to serve on the State of Arizona Strategic Planning Board for Tobacco Control. Additionally, she was appointed to serve on First Things First Regional Council, Arizona, in addressing the needs of children 0-5 years of age. Rev. Dr. Polston also served on the Governor's Task Force on Spiritual Care for Returning Veterans, Phoenix, Arizona. Dr. Polston served as board member of Hospice of Wake County, North Carolina; The Governor's Task Force on Sickle Cell, North Carolina; Chaplain for Macedonia New Life Church Elderly Housing Program
