My debut EP, Glass Demons, is now on Spotify, Apple Music, and iTunes!

A solo, one man band cover of one of my favourite musicians, Damien Rice.

I went with a friend to see him in 2007 in Toronto at what is now called the Sony Centre. I was unfamiliar with his material at this point. I was absolutely enthralled the entire time, and he quickly became one of my absolute favourite musicians, period.

The Box is my favourite song off of My Favourite Faded Fantasy, and it was incredibly fun arranging the string part for this one man band setup. This is also my first attempt at playing glockenspiel with everything going on.

Everything you hear and see is performed completely live off the floor, with no looping, layering, etc.

Bio:
Known for his “amazing and diversified talent” (Velvet Rope Magazine) and his “indomitable stage presence” (The Ontarion), Samuel “Sammy Duke” Dlugokecki is a skilled multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and two-time Canadian Juno-nominated session performer. In 2013, he began experimenting with a one-man-band configuration for “[h]is lyrically thoughtful world-folk-fusion sound…similar to the soft voiced spiritual richness of Craig Cardiff and Bruce Cockburn, melded with the breathy vocals of late father-son songsmiths Tim and Jeff Buckley.” (Coral Andrews). Sammy has performed in venues nationwide, and has both intrigued and inspired audiences each time.

I do not own this musical material. All rights reserved to Damien Rice and affiliates.
