The Dahrendorf Forum project cycle 2015-2016 ‘Europe and the World’ is shaped by five interdisciplinary working groups with specific focus regions (Russia/Ukraine, MENA, China, North America and Turkey). In this introductory panel, the five working group chairs recapitulated their work over the last 15 months and gave an outlook on the five parallel sessions during the Dahrendorf Symposium 2016. The Dahrendorf Forum presented a three-day Symposium, entitled ‘Europe and the World – Global Insecurity & Power Shifts’, from 25-27 May 2016 at the Akademie der Künste in Berlin. The main focus of the lectures and panel discussions was the question of Europe’s role in the world. The Dahrendorf Symposium aims to reinvigorate the foreign policy debate in Europe.
