August 16th, 2015, the girl I fell in love with at 14 and I celebrated our 50th Wedding Anniversary. The cake topper in the video is the original one from our wedding cake. Our five children, spouses and four grandchildren were all able to attend and all come to the Chalice to celebrate our oneness in Christ. I've been an Orthodox Christian priest for 33 years now. The spiritual discipline of an Orthodox Christian Marriage, like Lent and Pascha, is a joy fulfilled eternally - not until death parts us. Death cannot part us, as it does in a worldly contract of marriage, but instead, our love becomes an eternal sacrament known now, because Christ has trampled down death by death. And that is what we are meant to do in marriage, in synergy with Christ.
