In Christchurch, New Zealand, a series of earthquakes in 2010-2011 have destroyed countless buildings. Gap Filler is running creative projects on the gaps. (www.gapfiller.org.nz)
Local engineers Kerry Mulligan, Dermot Sallis and Gary McCormick worked with Gap Filler to create a cycle-powered cinema. Local musicians Anita Clark and Simon Gregory composed and performed live music to old silent archival films from the New Zealand Film Archive. Other films screened include Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Jacques Tati's Jour de Fete, Triplets of Belleville, The Bicycle Thief, Monkey Tale, Cookery Nook and more.
All events were free to the public.
