Thomas The Tank And Friends In Michael Jackson's Thriller UPDATE: 3-1-08 Lately I've been spotting Rip Offs of my Thriller video on Youtube. Just remember this is the original video that started it all. Update 2: 5-19-08 Apparently HIT Entertainment made a copyright claim on Thriller but they have allowed me to keep it up they have just put ads by Google right next to the video. So every time you click on this video so will see ads for Thomas on the right of the video. Update: 1-21-09 Since my Video has over a million hits i suppose i'll let you all in on a little history of this video I began creating this Video in June of 2006. I got the idea of creating a Halloween Music video from SIF Member Christopher who i think created the original Thomas Halloween music video using This Is Halloween from The Nightmare Before Christmas in 2005. I thought to myself i wanted to do something like that with Thriller and release it the next Halloween. For months i did a few tests in WMM to see which scenes would work with Thriller using the episodes i had. I started in June of 2006 by mixing the audio using Audacity and Windows Movie Maker and edited together the first four scenes. After that i left it dormant due to an editors block. I came back to it in August and edited it into September and October. during September i realized that i needed a few episodes and I did some trading with another member who also happened to be making a Thriller music video. We decided to have a friendly competition to see who could make a better Thriller video. Then on Halloween 2006 i did a speed edit to make sure everything was perfect. I liked how it was so far except for the ending which originally ended with the Single version. to me that was an abrupt way to end it. So i went into the original Thriller Video used Audacity to get the extra audio thus extended the video to its 7:23 length. I edited in the Credits and then uploaded it to YouTube and to SIF and the rest is history. Hopefully that provides some insight into the making of this video. and now so i don't have comments asking these questions here are the episodes used in making this video. Flour Power (Season 9) The Magic Lamp (Season 9) Percy And The Haunted Mine (Season 6) Toby's Discovery (Season 5) Duncan Gets Spooked (Season 5) Percy's Scary Tale (Jack And The Pack Episode) Scaredy Engines (Season 6) Thomas, Percy And The Dragon (Season 3) Haunted Henry (Season 5) Rusty To The Rescue (Season 4) Fergus Breaks The Rules (Season 7) Michael Jackson's Thriller UPDATE: 6-26-09 RIP Michael Jackson i am honored that you added this video to your favorites list. UPDATE: 3-4-10 Well i recently found my video on a blog. http://raisingmaine.mainetoday.com/bl... all i have to say is i did not expect this video to be so popular. If i can ever find the time i might remaster it with better quality footage and better editing. UPDATE: 10-27-13 I can't believe this video is still generating views 7 years later and even inspiring some other Thriller Thomas mashups that are actually really well done, thank you all for watching these past 7 years. I do keep entertaining the idea of remastering and re-doing the video with better quality footage, beitter software (as this was originally done on Windows Movie Maker) and much better editing techniques that I've picked up in college. I don't have a set date for when it'll be done because I want to do it right and I don't have as much spare time as I did in High School so I'll just say it'll be done when it's done. Again, thanks for watching over the years and keep on spreading the love.
