Recently cracking the US Billboard Top 10 (and having been already on the Canadian Hot 100 for 27 weeks and peaking at #1), Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" ends up on my cutting table in this edition of "Musical Autopsy".

How do you throw a WISH in a well? You throw coins, or dead bodies, depending on your choice of career.

I guess if stalkers had an anthem this song  would be it.

+whorundaworldgirls1 Technically The Police own the original stalking anthem 'Every Breath You Take', but yes Clay Aiken's 'Invisible' is up there.
Serenity
wait...i thought that Clay Aiken's song was the Stalker Anthem? the one that went something like, "if i was invisible, i'd watch you when you sleep."

I always pictured this song as some really crazy chick and her story about this guy she stalked.

Thank God. I'm glad to see that I wasn't the only one who was creeped out by this song.

What a fucking waste of singing talent. She has a great voice, but of course has to waste it on bullshit songs like this.

The first thing that came into my head when she sung the line "Your stare was holdin', ripped jeans, skin was showing, hot night, wind was blowing" was the image of a homeless man staring at her across the car park of a convenience store in the middle of the night. It just sounds like that.
