Virtual Worlds Using Head-mounted Displays

My opinions on how to create proper virtual worlds using head-mounted displays (HMDs), and the issues that need to be addressed to avoid annoying or sickening users.

The specific HMD used here is an eMagin Z800 Visor, and the tracking system is an Intersense IS-900. The virtual world is a mash-up of a Doom3 level and a portal gun.
