It is estimated that at least one in four people in Haiti now has a disability. It is Toronto Rehabs hope that the work it is doing in Haiti will not only help save lives and help injured Haitians maximize their abilities post-injury but that by bringing rehabilitation care to the country and hope to these Haitians, it will help change for the better the lives of Haitians with disabilities.
As part of a humanitarian response, Toronto Rehab is sending teams of rehabilitation specialists in two-week rotations to Haiti to help people who have suffered spinal cord injuries during the earthquake.
