Can a stick warning solve the education problem?
In Guangdong, one is called "Wolf Father" is strict on
his four children, three of his children study in
Beijing University.
Recently "Wolf Father" holds a feather stick attends a TV debate,
He said beating children to let them study is part of the education.
The feather stick is his secret weapon for child's education.
However, some people consider this as a slavery education,
scholars said the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) party culture,
lies and violence, is the problem of education in China.

"Kids going to Beijing University if beating them
every three days" is a saying of the "Wolf father" Xiao Baiyou.
In an education TV program in Jiangsu, in China,
A 47-year old Baiyou Xiao is holding a feather stick in his hand,
which is his own "secret weapon" for handling his kids.

Mr. Xiao explained to "Apple Daily" during the interview:
"It is not simply a body-punishment, not violent action,
but to let the kids know the family-discipline.
There are many rule in his Family-discipline,
the causes for being beaten are various, for examples:
the posture of holding pen is not proper;
infrequent-reading, arguing with classmates;
getting criticized by teachers, off school not in time;
watching TV without permission,
getting lower score of exams by careless,
being untidy with textbooks and homework,
losing stationary and cloths so and so.

The kids must show their acknowledgement
and say "no-again" after being beaten.

Xiao Baiyou said his mother beat him during his youth.

He believes that his mother's educational method
helped him to enter Jinan University with the eight best score in Guangdong Province.
Later, he chose to make it a "family tradition,"
in order to educate his kids, therefore he was called, "wolf dad."

Although Xiao spoke clearly and logically on stage,
the audience didn't agree with him and raised many questions.
Zhu Qiang, associate professor of Nanjing Normal University,
told Chinese media that "wolf dad" is advocating "slavery education."

Li Yuanhua, former associate professor of
Education Science at the Capital Normal University,
told NTD TV that "wolf dad's" beating method
reflects how he was raised as a youth.
If a feather stick can solve China's education woes;
it can't be named "education."

Li Yuanhua: "In fact, this kind of education is similar to
the CCP's controlling Chinese people, it is scary.
The CCP uses lies and violence if they cannot solve a problem.
In fact, they have a violent mind-set, rather than a spirit of love."

Xia GuiQi, a retired professor at Zhejiang University, said
that the present educational methods take a laissez-faire approach.
There are no rules, so kids are apt to cause trouble.
They cannot behave themselves well even if spanked.
She thought that the fundamental problem of education
in China is the party's culture.

Xia GuiQi: "In mainland China, there are many party cultures.
If you use these cultures to educate your children,
no matter what methods you use,
you will be unable to teach them well.
It depends on the value parents put on education.
This is the most fundamental issue."

Xia Guiqi stressed that the fundamental purpose of education
is to train children to have a healthy personality.
Methods in education should be individualized for the child.

It should be stricter with difficult children,
but it is also very important to encourage them.
