In its fourth year, the John Ross Palmer Escapist Mentorship Program skyrocketed to an even higher level prominence with the acceptance of five talented artists and some very special "firsts." Leigh Armstrong, Sonya Cuellar, Tra` Slaughter, Lauren Wondra and Anita Varadaraju were accepted into the prestigious and empowering program through the jury process after the most applications in this history of the program--three times the number from the prior year. Lauren Wondra is the first "international" Escapist--a citizen of the United Kingdom that conducted her mentoring session with John and Ryan mainly via Skype. Leigh Armstrong was the youngest-ever Escapist Artist--applying and accepted into the program as a high school student at age 18. By vote of his Escapist Class and all former Escapists, Tra` Slaughter was named the first-ever Escapist of the Year. Watch this first-class and dynamic documentary film by David Eduardo Flores Perez of 2osos Productions and hear them speak about their year of hard work, challenges and great rewards of being an Escapist Artist. This is Part I of three parts.
