Final Cut Pro 10.3 is here and at first look the new, stripped back, interface looks like a great improvement that a lot of editors will like.
However there are a few questions you should ask before upgrading. - Can I run old versions of Final Cut Pro on the same Mac? - Should I update my projects? - Can I move between versions of Final Cut Pro? - Should I upgrade my operating system so I can get the new version? - Will the new timeline and edit tools be easy to learn? - Is the Library with its Render and Proxy folder setup the same? - How will I manage my media in the new Final Cut Pro X? - Will other software be affected?
In this first look I share my thoughts and advice on whether you should or should not upgrade. This considerations will be different for every editor and I would love to hear your thoughts.
