A talk given at The Jewish Genealogical Society, New-York, by a child survivor of ghetto Kovno, Lithuania, the author of the literary memoir "Crossing the River", The University of Alabama Press, 2008. A story reflected through the prism of a sharp eyed young child that passed the imprisonment in the ghetto, his lonely hidings, the liberation and perilous route via Europe to future Israel, 1946. The author tells about the hardship and obstacles along the twenty years of recollecting and writing his memoir, its results and benefits.
