Mohammed Rafi (Hindi: मोहम्मद रफ़ी, Urdu: محمد رفیع; December 24, 1924 July 31, 1980), one of the most versatile male singers in the history of Indian cinema. Rafi sang in many Indian languages including Hindi, Urdu, Bhojpuri, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, Sindhi, Kannada and Telugu. He was the only singer who sang sad song, happy songs, comedy songs, ghazals, classical, hamd, naat, qawwali, bhajan, so we call him a VERSATILE SINGER. As Mukesh was famous for sad song, Kishor for happy songs, Manaday for classical songs, Talat Mehmood for ghazals. But RAFI was all rounder. He is still popular more then Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam and Sukhwinder Singe the top singers of today.
