Mahalo expert Keltie Colleen shows you how to make a homemade picture frame ornament.

If you are having trouble deciding what to get friends and family for Christmas, consider a homemade picture frame ornament. This hand-crafted
Christmas tree ornament can be customized to reflect the taste of the person you give it to. By framing pictures of yourself, your family, your children, or your pets, you are giving a gift that will be cherished for years to come.

Making a Christmas ornament yourself, instead of buying one from a store, is a great way to save money during the holidays. Christmas ornaments have been used as decoration since the 1800's. The earliest Christmas trees were decorated with ornaments made from fruits and nuts.

Step 1: Gather the Supplies

In order to create your homemade popsicle stick picture frame ornament, you will first need to gather the following craft supplies:

1. Several popsicle sticks

2. A photo of your family

3. Glitter glue (holiday colors)

4. Scissors

5. Thin decorative ribbon

6. Glue gun

7. Holiday craft stickers

8. Rhinestones

Step 2: Build the Frame

Take four popsicle sticks and lay them out to form a square. Glue the popsicle sticks together where they meet in the corners of the square. Glue a second layer of popsicle sticks on top of the square you just formed. Build up one more layer of popsicle sticks if desired.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVo0YC...

Step 3: Attach the Picture and Decorate

Lay the dried popsicle stick picture frame on top of your picture and mark the edges. Trim the picture to the size of your frame and glue the frame onto your picture. Take a piece of ribbon and glue the ends together to form a loop. Glue the ribbon loop to the top of your picture frame. Decorate your picture frame with glitter glue and stickers. Then, wrap your Christmas gift to give to a loved one.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVo0YC...
