A frustrating affair. A points finish was thwarted by the foolish and utterly wreckless actions of another driver (at 35:20, start of lap 45) which forced me to make an extra stop. It was Hiro Matsushita and keen observers will notice that he's caused me problems more than once this season! Compounding this was the fact that my team mate, Scott Brayton, was already in the box, meaning even more time was lost. The car itself was adequate at best and only the first turn couldn't be taken flat out every time. In a straight line it was significantly slower than the Penske cars and barely able to maintain pace with at least half of the field, even though I had the minimum of rear down force. Although I saw the chequered flag, I was lapped and scored no points. The championship is a three way race going into the final round: Boesel, Tracy and Mansell can all clinch it with a victory at Laguna Seca, depending on where the other two finish.

-Emerson Fittipaldi scores 1 point for pole position
-Paul Tracy scores 1 point for fastest lap
