The new HP Multi Jet Fusion™ Technology can produce parts up to 10 times faster(1), with strength! To prove how strong the parts can be, HP 3D printed a chain link in about 30 minutes using HP Multi Jet Fusion™ Technology. The link weighs 1/4 pound and can lift up to 10,000 pounds. To put its strength to the test, HP's Steven Nigro, senior vice president, Graphics and Inkjet Solutions Business, had the team use it to lift a 1995 Avalon right into the air.
(1) Based on internal HP testing of part build time, for a set of representative parts in batch process comparing HP Thermal Inkjet based HP Multi Jet Fusion™ technology to the leading 3D printing technologies in the U.S.—selective laser sintering (SLS) and fused deposition modeling—as of October 2014.
