Silver Reflective Film by Klingshield was one of the first window films ever developed in the early sixties. This film consists of a metallization in-between two clear films. The metal part in the construction is manufactured by boiling aluminium and allowing the very fine aluminium steam to set on the polyester film. The aluminium metal is so thin that one can still see through it, however when one applies or adheres this film to ordinary glass, it turns the glass into a mirrored viewing glass, when looking from the outside in the daylight. In fact, the natural daylight is what causes the treated windows to become reflected. The reflective surface in the glass, deflects the sunlight and stops it from entering through the glancing material, hence making the inside of any building much cooler. This silver film is also used in a combination of tinted films to manufacture coloured reflective films in bronze, grey, gold and blue Silver Reflective Film is the longest lasting film available as it has no colour dye film added to it, therefore the metal will last indefinitely and look good for many years to come. Some of Klingshield's Silver Reflective Films are still on buildings from when it first started in business 40 years ago. Klingshield Silver Films have a 10 year interior warranty and a life expectancy of at least 20 years. All Klingshield's Silver Reflective Films have a constant silver coating with a high shine look. Klingshield's Silver Reflective Film stops 79% of heat, 80% of Glare and 99% of UV light
All Klingshied window films have been tested by the South African Bureau of standards for impact, optical clarity and an excellent scratch resistant coating
