Inspired by the work of William Kentridge and Jason Mitcham, students in Fine Arts Fall of 2011 were challenged to create a collaborative stop-motion animation about themselves. Students were asked to group their thoughts, hopes, dreams, and concerns into several categories, and came up with several re-occurring themes that they could all relate to: struggles with personal identity, societal pressures, interpersonal relationships, and concerns for the future. In this video, students worked together to create each image on one single sheet of paper, by continually drawing and erasing each idea and change in subject matter. Photographs were taken after each change and sequenced in Adobe Premier.
