This was the 2nd qualifying round of the 2011 IEEE Region 5 Robotics Competition held in Baton Rouge, LA on April 16, 2011.

Though we didn't place, our robot was undeniably the fastest there raising the flag in 30 seconds. The next closest times were 70+ seconds.

The team is from the newly formed Robotics class of Texas A&M University - Kingsville. This robot was constructed and programed in a month and a half prior to the competition.

The miniature robot uses two servos and a controller to travel to the flag as the larger robot utilizes the CMUcam3 to find the red source. Both robots use springs in lieu of mechanical claws to directly connect the red source to the flag and are drawn back together using a motor on a relay switch.
