This movie is dedicated to all the children being sexually abused and unfairly imprisoned in the Philippines.

It was made to support the PREDA Foundation an organization fighting against sexual abuse and child slavery in the Philippines and the work of its founder Fr. Shay Cullen, multiple Noble Prize Nominee and a winner of International Person of the Year Award in September 2008 and the Meteor Humanitarian Award in Dublin in March 2009.

The whole documentary is based on Damien Dempsey Irish musician and songwriter who decided to support PREDA foundation. Especially for the children of PREDA he performed a gig on the February 28th, 2008 in Galway. At the time of the production of Power of a Voice a little over € 7,000 was raised for the kids at PREDA. Due to ongoing support from Damien the final figure raised from the gig and associated events was €12,130. Thank you, Damo!

The movie is being endorsed by high profile personalities such as Martin Sheen, Damian Dempsey and Sharon Shannon. It was made to raise awareness among the student population and help with the launch of a local support network, PREDA Galway on the 29th of Febraury 2008.

The documentary was made by a group of Post-Leaving Cert. Film and TV students under the guidance of our tutor Colleen Quinn in Galway Community College, Moinin na gCiseach.
