Real-time event detection for video surveillance applications

Events are detected in real-time in embedded platforms using optimized computer vision and machine learning algorithms. The detection process is based on the ability to detect and track individuals, and analyze their different trajectory and motion patterns. A calibration process helps to provide 3D context to the scene and therefore increasing the detection performance by reducing the number of False Positives.
Part of the developments were carried out in the framework of the EU FP7 project P-REACT (www.p-react.eu).
The developments are included in the Viulib libraries.
