Please read the video description for "Velvet City" for more information regarding this session.
Here's the second -- out of three -- tunes that I cut for Adam; I did this one back in mid-April. Featured on vocals is Adam's friend Peter Hoffman - swell job, mate! Adam also tracked bass and mixed everything, building the drum mix from 'dry stems' that I supplied him.
Adam composed this tune about three years ago, so some actual instrumentation (guitars, bass, programmed drums) was present on the demo unlike "Velvet City". I stuck fairly close to Adam's input for the verse/central riff and ventured further out for the other sections. I had the idea of switching out the 'stack' for a splash when the dynamics soften for the bridge (well, and the rest of the tune since I couldn't punch, hah). Although it fades at the end, my transcription reflects what I actually played, which you can see/hear if you purchase the iso drum movie from my webstore.
For the last tune we're gonna dig back into some more funk-oriented playing, but for now I'm off to jolly old England for rehearsals followed by a UK tour with Crown Jewel Defense! See y'all when I get back.
