While waiting for some CSX action on the P&LE (CSX has trackage rights) at Wampum, PA, a Conrail coal train with CR 6260 leading, came north on the Youngstown line and stopped on the bridge over the Beaver River to wait for permission for a work area to clear. We had to scoot down to the river bank to get some pictures of the power and the train on the bridge. The crew noticed us, then pointed forward. He throttled up, and pulled the power up so that he was sitting directly over the P&LE main. Within minutes! The first CSX west bound came with CSX 8046 leading, followed by two more right on his heels. CSX 7808 on the second, and CSX 6260 on the third.. It wasn't very long after the third CSX cleared, that the Conrail crew got permission to proceed north. The friend crew gave us a few extra blast, and a wave, and he was on his way. Video was taken 5/13/1995. Thanks for watching. Jackmp294.5™...
