Every April, in the foothills of the Sierras, the Sierra Traditional Jazz Club sponsors Jazzaffair. In 2010 there were 11 bands playing in 3 venues -- each with dance floors. This classic jazz festival is held in Three Rivers, California, within sight of snow-capped mountains. The host band is the High Sierra Jazz Band. Other bands at the 2010 festival were the St Louis Rivermen, Titan Hot 7, Cornet Chop Suey, Nightblooming Jazzmen, Jerry Krahn, the Reedley River Rats, Tom Rigney and Flambeau, Ivory & Gold, Blue Street, and Grand Dominion. The event has a very relaxed flavor -- a large number of attendees arrive in their RVs and park next to one of the venues. The local Lions Club does a barbecue most nights.
