It’s important to address the needs of specific groups, instead of thinking about one blanket activity to increase diversity. The hurdles that confront white women in technology are often completely different than the hurdles that confront women of color, for example. This talk will identify activities you can do to create an inclusive work environment that addresses unique needs of the groups you’re trying to accommodate.
Marco Rogers is an Engineering Manager at Clover Health, where he leads development teams creating technology to improve patient care. Prior to Clover, Marco was the Director of Front-end Engineering at Yammer, where he was an integral facet of the tech team leading up to its acquisition by Microsoft. Before that, he spent years in engineering and management roles at companies including Beaconfire Consulting, Atlantic Media Company, and Siteworx Inc. Marco is passionate about increasing diversity and inclusiveness in tech, and is active with the non-profit organization Code2040.
