http://www.timisoarastiri.ro Mako "HAGYMATIKUM" thermal bath that has been designed by world famous Hungarian architect Imre Makovecz opens to the public today. The thermal bath that destroyed by fire has been rebuilt within twenty-six months by the funding of the Ministry of National Development.

Hagymatikum lett a makói fürdő

The new structure enhances Mako city and the entire region's touristic competitiveness. The new bath initially employs a few hundred people, but as part of a larger tourist project, in a few years, it generates another four to six hundred indirect jobs in catering, trade and tourism.

According to estimates by experts, the new bath will increase the number of foreign guests visiting the city by about 25 percent.

This structure is one of the last works of the world-famous architect Imre Makovecz who died on September 27 last year. The form of the building displays all the design elements that Makovecz is known for. It features domes, columns and a wooden skyrocketing roof. The special atmosphere of building is enhanced by giant wooden surfaces next the huge stained glass windows that let sunshine flood the entire structure.
