Hi, my name is Lisa Moskovitz and I'm a registered dietitian and certified in the state of New York, with a private practice on the upper east side. I specialize in weight management, exercise and sports nutrition. And I'll be talking to you about diets. Weight Watchers. Well, we all have to think that it works. Look at Jennifer Hudson. She's lost so much weight on this diet just by following the four basic pillars of the Weight Watchers program: changing your habits, eating healthier, a good support system, and increasing your physical activity. That is the philosophy of this program; with the point system geared toward each individual, based on gender, height and weight, you're able to eat anything you want, staying under the points that you are allowed, and lose weight at the same time. This program specializes in people who refuse to cut out their favourite foods. You want to enjoy a piece of chocolate cake? Just make sure that you write down the points, and voila, you can enjoy it. Overall, I think this program happens to be great for those who really need a support system, cause you're able to attend meetings and, once again, you're able to eat the foods that you enjoy. The down side- you have to restrict yourself to particular points and it can be hard to dine out in restaurant, so if you like to eat out a lot, this program may not be for you.
