For anyone who has attended an ANZAC Day dawn service, there is no denying the sense of reverence and reflection that the service inspires. The flickering of a candlelit service and the solemn pause as the sun rises has long been a tradition in Australia and is a fitting commemoration for the sacrifices of the fallen.

ANZAC Day -- 25 April -- is probably Australia's most important national occasion. It marks the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War.

This video of the 2012 ANZAC Day Dawn Service (PAFU0705) is a time-lapse video photographed by the Australian War Memorial's Multimedia Services.

Shot on a Canon 5D MII, Av F2.8, 1000 ISO, Shot 6 sec interval.
