I've gotten lots of questions recently about setting up and using stereo delays, so hopefully this will help those of you just starting to play with stereo delays and stereo effects. I know a lot of you might already be familiar with these concepts, but there might still be some good stuff in here for you.

One thing I really like to do with stereo delays is to stack them, with a modulated delay running into a ping pong delay. This is what I demonstrate at the end of the video.

Just to be clear, in order to use a pedal in stereo you do have to use two amps. In this video I'm running into a Matchless Clubman and Matchless Chieftain. Since this is a stereo recording, I've panned one amp hard left and the other hard right in my DAW (which is Logic Pro). Each amp is mic'd with a Shure SM57 and my interface is a Motu Ultralite mk3.

The pedals I used were a Strymon El Capistan and a Line 6 Echo park. I really like the ping pong mode on the Echo Park, even more than the ping pong settings on the Strymon Timeline sometimes.

My video camera is a Nikon D5100 and I use Final Cut Pro X to edit the video.
