In this tutorial we set up the main application, which I'm going to use further, which is basically falling boxes. Box2D is just a physics engine, how you render is up to you, I set up the rendering with both (OpenGL + SDL but with ortho projection) and pure SDL, according to that, using your own rendering (flash, allegro...) shouldn't be a problem.
