More than 60% of Rutgers undergraduates conduct research, working in collaborative groups or as independent scholars under the guidance of a professor. Project L/EARN provides students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, first generation college students, and those from racial/ethnic minority groups with training, experience, and mentoring to make them stronger candidates for admission to graduate programs in health-related social science fields. Dr. Howard Leventhal, Ph.D., Professor of Psychology, discusses his current research project with an undergraduate student focused on identifying patterns for how physicians interact with patients and improving medical education.
