The first and only screening and commentary of Wim Wenders' advertising film work to the public. This live commentary was hosted by Steffen Gentis, Chief Production Officer of the BBDO Group Germany and filmed at the "Regielounge" on September 24, 2015 in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Düsseldorf was the focal point of the German and European advertising film and communications industry when some 1500 guests from the worlds of advertising, film, communications and media attended the 50th Regielounge (Directors Lounge) in Düsseldorf on Thursday evening, the 24th of September 2015– with filmmaker and photographer Wim Wenders as the star guest.

The event, initiated and organized by the BBDO Group Germany advertising agency network, was held in collaboration with the North Rhine-Westphalia Film and Media Foundation (Film- und Medienstiftung NRW), with the support of Bosworth Music and Adstream.

At the anniversary film night Wim Wenders – who recently celebrated his seventieth birthday – presented and commented an unique excerpt of his advertising film work to the public for the first time.

As Steffen Gentis, Chief Production Officer of BBDO Group Germany and initiator of the Regielounge, explains: "Together with the NRW Film and Media Foundation, we were able to present a lesser known side of the magnificent oeuvre of one of Germany's most internationally successful filmmakers."

The winner of numerous international film awards, including the Palme d'Or in Cannes, and the director of such movies as "Der Himmel über Berlin", "Paris, Texas" and "Buena Vista Social Club", Wim Wenders showed commercials for brands that included Audi, Stella Artois, Samsung or the Magnum ice cream brand.

In addition to Wenders, a number of other prominent guests attended and showcased their work at the Regielounge, among them the reknown British fashion and portrait photographer Rankin, who has worked with celebrities such as Heidi Klum, Kate Moss, Madonna and David Bowie; and the film composer Ludovico Einaudi ("Doctor Zhivago", "The Intouchables"). Einaudi's music features a unique blend of classical, rock, electronic and international music – his compositions have made him the most popular classical artist on Spotify.

Animation artist Virgilio Villoresi and advertising film director Max Millies, who has already produced a number of commercials in collaboration with BBDO for clients such as True Fruits and smart, also provided an insight into their work.

The film night, organized by BBDO for the 50th time, is the ideal platform for directors to present their work on the German market. On each occasion up to 1,500 creative specialists and influential decision-makers use the event as a means of getting to know prominent filmmakers as well as newcomers and their ideas.
