"In the span of one morning, top Mitt Romney surrogate John Sununu referred to President Obama as dumb and stupid, called the Chicago political culture from which he came "corrupt," brought up Obama's admitted use of marijuana as a kid in Hawaii, resurfaced the name of Tony Rezko -- the jailed financier with ties to Obama -- and then questioned the president's Americanness."

Sununu's comments include:

"He has no idea how the American system functions, and we shouldn't be surprised about that, because he spent his early years in Hawaii smoking something, spent the next set of years in Indonesia, another set of years in Indonesia," he said. "And, frankly, when he came to the U.S. he worked as a community organizer, which is a socialized structure, and then got into politics in Chicago."

Cenk Uygur breaks down Mitt Romney surrogate John Sununu's melt down. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

It's sickening to see people sling so much mud at each other. I've seen more mature people in a daycare center. I've seen dogs fighting over bones that are more dignified than this, shame on both parties.

Not just liberals or conservatives. This country is way overdue for a big "FUCK YOU" from another better country. We aren't even #1 in obesity anymore.

Fuck all you goddamn liberals, fuck all this two party preschool attitudes. You are all clinging to your political stereotypes with no shame, where has class gone? can't we each look at each issue individually? You all are why our country will slowly disintegrate.

While I agree with your point about the modern GOP. I think you have oversimplified this issue. Lincoln did oppose slavery on moral grounds, but he did not consider its abolition more important than saving the Union. As for rights, they were granted under the 14th Amendment, and in fact, there several black legislators voted into office during Reconstruction. However, the rise of "Jim Crow" in the south and general bias against blacks made enforcing their new rights difficult for 100+ yrs.
