Today we are going to talk about our compact power wheelchair, the P310 Regal. The P310 is a powerbase rear wheel drive wheelchair. Rear wheel drive meaning the chair consists of two sets of wheels, 10" foam filled drive tires and 8" foam filled casters.
The P310 features an extremely low center of gravity with a 300 lb weight capacity and is available in red, blue or black. It also features an aluminum footplate with flip-up height and angle adjustability providing various comfort positions. Height adjustable, flip up armrests and a sturdy 20" wide semi reclining captain's seat allows the user to adjust the unit to their comfort needs. A lower 20-22" seat height facilitates transfers and makes it the most stable unit in its class.A swing back joystick mount comes standard with the unit along with a Dynamic Shark joystick allowing the user to enter or exit the chair with ease. A programmable controller provides a wide range of selections to suit the needs and demands of different users.
The unit is powered by two 12 volt U1 batteries and includes a 5 amp off board charger. Charging the unit is as simple as plugging the charger into the joystick and flipping the switch. A fully charged unit has a range of up to 18 miles depending on terrain.
I would like to demonstrate how to remove the captain's seat, shroud and batteries. The P310 weighs 211 lbs with the batteries and a mere 135 lbs without them.
To disengage the motors to allow the chair to be transported, simply turn the levers toward the drive tires. Now the chair can be moved freely. Just remember to re-engage the gearboxes before trying to use the chair again.
Now let's see some of the driving features of the P310. Dual DC 24V motors enhance efficiency, torque, range and overall performance. The unit has a max speed of 5 miles per hour and features a 21" turning radius which allows for excellent maneuverability. A 12° gradient and 3" ground clearance makes driving up and down ramps worry free. The P310 features several optional accessories such as elevating leg rests, oxygen tank holders, cane and crutch holders, walker holders and a foldable rear basket.
That's all I have for today. For more information on the P310 Regal or any of our other fantastic mobility and respiratory products, please visit our website at www.meritshealth.com.
